Waterford Youth Assistance
Waterford Youth Assistance is an active group of community leaders and representatives who's objective is to help strengthen youth and families and to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency, child neglect and child abuse by providing positive alternatives, through volunteer involvement.
The organization is over 40 years old and is continually striving to impact the lives of youth and families in the Waterford community.
Waterford Youth Assistance (W.Y.A.) has numerous committees and activities. The Board of Directors believes that the entire Waterford community is a vital part of this organization's success and therefore encourages the citizens of Waterford to be a part of the events, accomplishments, and future goals.
W.Y.A.'s programs are community based and developed by volunteers who live or work in Waterford. Professional staff serve as advisors to this non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Programs and services are sponsored by Waterford Township and the Oakland County Circuit Court - Family Division.
We are always in need of volunteers and can find a place for your interest. Our programs include Bucket of Love, Camping Scholarships, Family Education, Fund Raising, Mentors Plus, Moms Mentoring Moms (M&Ms), Public Relations and Volunteer Development, Shoplifting Prevention, Youth Enrichment, and Youth Recogntion - we are always looking for new, interactive "hands-on" preventative programs that help us to achieve our mission.
